Vasanth Ravi’s involvement in the movie was announced in early August. Both Malayalam actor Vinayakan and Ramya Krishnan soon declared their involvement, on August 10 and August 23, respectively. According to speculations from July 2022, Yogi Babu was allegedly set to appear in the film.
On August 24, 2022, Sun Pictures provided confirmation of such a rumor. It was revealed on January 6th, 2023, that Mohanlal would appear in the movie in a cameo capacity. Plot Summary
Surprisingly, a movie with the title Jailer cannot be classified into just one category, which is obviously what a masala movie is. The transition from one genre to the next, though, is rather noticeable and intriguing in this movie. We are watching a family drama at one point, then a revenge saga, and then it changes into something I won’t say since it would be a spoiler. And much with the amusing appearances, the surprises never stop.

Conclusion
Overall, Jailer is a mediocre action drama that heavily depends on Rajinikanth’s performance and personal flair. The movie has a good first half, and Superstar was gorgeous in his performance. However, Jailer had a tenuous storyline, and the second half collapsed like a house of cards. Jailer, therefore, ends up being simply a passable movie, thus it is advised to temper your expectations.
Additionally, there are a few passable action scenes that are emphasized by Anirudh’s catchy tune and brilliantly captured by Vijay Kartik Kannan; there are also a few mass scenes that we missed in Nelson’s last movie Beast. Because Annaatthe and Darbar, Rajini’s most recent two movies, were both disappointing, to put it mildly, they mostly stay on familiar terrain this time around.
Even though Jailer is far from ideal, Rajinikanth’s commanding presence and Nelson’s strong screenplay make it a remarkable homecoming for both the actor and director.
